Record an EP in Kelowna

A five-song EP, planned as a project: a clear price per song, 12 studio hours and 3 revisions for each, and a schedule that fits around real life.

An EP is usually four to six songs. It is the most common first release for a local artist, and it is the size of project where planning pays off most: enough songs to tell a story, few enough to finish in a season.

What an EP costs

Every song is priced the same way: your hourly rate times 12 included studio hours, with 3 revision rounds. Package discounts start at 5 songs, so a four-song EP is priced as four individual songs and a five-song EP gets 5% off.

ProjectAt $35/hrAt $50/hrAt $65/hr
4-song EP (no package discount)$1,680$2,400$3,120
5-song EP (5% off)$1,995$2,850$3,705

Totals before GST. The rate you choose also sets how ownership is shared; see long-term projects for how that works. A six-song EP can be priced as a five-song package plus one more song. Ask and we will work out the best arrangement.

Questions

How long does it take to record an EP?

Most EPs fit comfortably into about three months at a steady pace. Each song includes 12 studio hours, so a five-song EP is 60 hours spread over however many sessions suit your schedule.

Can I start with one song and add more?

Yes. Start with a single song at the base price. If you decide to continue, we can move to a package, and the remaining songs follow the package rates.

Are mixing and mastering included?

In long-term projects they are built in. For one-off work they are quoted with the project.

Tell us what you're working on.

A song, an EP, a full album. Start with a conversation and we will map out the project together.
